This new Micropub, in a former solicitors' office, opened its doors after winning their planning appeal against Havering Council's refusal for change of use.

Festival Charity: Chelmsford CHESS, 133 New London Road, Chelmsford, CM2 0QZ seeks to relieve homelessness and related hardship and distress amongst single adults in Chelmsford and Essex, through the provision of support services and temporary accommodation that helps them move on in their lives.

Sponsors & Supporters: Please note this festival is organised by Chelmsford & Mid Essex Branch of CAMRA, and all staff organising and working at the festival are volunteers.

In early October each year we also run a beer and cider festival in South Woodham Ferrers.

We are the home of four noted micro- breweries - Crouch Vale, Maldon Brewing Co. Our four breweries have won multiple awards & further details of these can be found under our “Breweries” section.

We look forward to the re-openeings and hope they both continue in their previous success.

A Mellow Golden Ale of 4.0% ABV Pubs Close for Serious Refurbishemnt November we see two busy local pubs closing for major refurbishment, both expected to be closed for a number of weeks.

The White Lion in Sawbridgwith and the Half Moon in Bishops Stortford are both having the decorators in for a serious refurbishment.

Only pubs in the current(2018) edition of the Good Beer Guide are eligible for nomination.
